California, covered.

USDOT 2917586 · MC 983328 · Salinas, CA

A California hazmat carrier shippers can actually rely on.

Hazardous materials freight punishes shortcuts. The wrong driver, the wrong placard, a missed signature on a manifest — and a routine load becomes a regulatory problem. Earthwise Transportation has run California's hazmat lanes since 2016 with a single discipline: get the paperwork right, send a HAZMAT-endorsed driver in the right-spec equipment, and treat every load like the regulator is reading the bill of lading the next morning.

We're based in Salinas. We dispatch 24 hours a day, every day. And we don't dabble in regulated freight — hazmat and food-grade are the only loads we move.

01 / Hazmat classes 04

What we haul.

Four hazardous materials classes make up the bulk of what shippers ask us to move across California. If your UN number falls outside this list, call dispatch — we'll tell you straight whether we're the right carrier.

3
CLASS · 03

Flammable Liquids

Solvents, fuels, alcohols, paints, adhesives. Bulk and packaged. Always placarded, always carried by a HAZMAT-endorsed driver in DOT-spec equipment.

5
CLASS · 05

Oxidizers & Peroxides

Ag-chem oxidizers, peroxide-based commodities, and other Class 5 materials. Strict segregation, no co-loaded incompatibles, full chain-of-custody.

8
CLASS · 08

Corrosives

Acids, caustics, and other corrosive liquids and solids. Tank trailers rated for the commodity, driver trained on emergency response for the specific product.

9
CLASS · 09

Miscellaneous Hazmat

Class 9 materials — environmentally hazardous substances, elevated-temperature commodities, and other regulated freight that doesn't fit the other classes.

02 / How we operate 04

What a real hazmat carrier looks like.

Every general-freight carrier with a tanker in the yard will tell you they "do hazmat." Fewer can show the paperwork to back it up. Here's what we do on every regulated load.

01

Verify before we accept

UN number, proper shipping name, class, packing group, and quantity get checked against our authority and equipment before we book the load. No surprises at the dock.

02

Match driver to cargo

HAZMAT-endorsed driver, current Emergency Response Guidebook, training records on file. Higher-risk freight goes to the most experienced hands in the fleet.

03

Placard correctly, every time

Placards per 49 CFR Part 172 — correct class, displayed on all four sides, replaced when damaged. Shipping papers in the driver's reach, not buried.

04

Document and close out

POD, BOL, hazmat manifest, any incident notes — back to dispatch the same day. Shippers get clean paperwork; we keep records that hold up to an audit.

03 / Credentials 04

Verifiable credentials.

Every number on this page can be cross-checked on the FMCSA SAFER public database. We list them because we want shippers to verify before they call.

DOT Registered

Active U.S. Department of Transportation operating authority for interstate and intrastate hazardous-materials carriage.

CRED · 04

ERG Current

Drivers carry current Emergency Response Guidebook references appropriate to their assigned cargo.

What hazmat classes does Earthwise haul in California?

We routinely haul Class 3 flammable liquids, Class 5 oxidizers and organic peroxides, Class 8 corrosives, and Class 9 miscellaneous hazardous materials across California. For Class 2 gases or Class 1 explosives, call dispatch — we'll tell you straight whether we're the right fit.

Are your drivers HAZMAT endorsed?

Yes. Every driver hauling regulated freight for Earthwise holds a current HAZMAT endorsement on their commercial driver's license, completes recurring hazardous-materials training, and carries up-to-date Emergency Response Guidebook materials.

Do you handle placarding and shipping papers?

Always. Our drivers placard loads according to 49 CFR Part 172, verify shipping papers match the cargo, and follow chain-of-custody and segregation requirements before the truck leaves the yard.

What California lanes do you run for hazmat freight?

We're based in Salinas and run hazmat statewide — Monterey County, the Bay Area, the Central Valley, Sacramento, the Central Coast, and Southern California including the LA basin and ports.

How fast can Earthwise quote a hazmat load?

Same-day, often within an hour. Call (831) 998-7832 with the UN number, class, packaging group, pickup and drop-off, and timing — we'll tell you fit, price, and lead time on that call.

Are you DOT and FMCSA registered for hazardous materials?

Yes. Earthwise Transportation operates under USDOT 2917586 and MC 983328, both verifiable on the FMCSA SAFER public database. We carry hazmat-appropriate liability and cargo insurance.
